A little care between one ritual and the next
Storage is part of enjoying fragrance. Follow the product label first; different formulas and packaging may have different requirements.
Keep it closed and away from strong odours
Use the original container and close it after use. Choose a cool, dry place away from sunlight, moisture, cooking smells and strongly scented cleaning products.
Handle dry incense gently
Sticks and coils can be fragile. Keep them supported in their packaging, and avoid bending or squeezing them. A broken piece may need a different support; do not improvise a setup that could let it fall.
Let the heat leave before you clean
Extinguish incense fully and allow the holder, burner and ash to become cold. Clean equipment according to its material and maker’s instructions. Keep liquids away from electrical parts.
Keep a simple scent note
Record the product, amount used and room conditions. Compare on another day under similar conditions, rather than drawing conclusions from a single strong or weak impression. Room size and ventilation change the experience.
