Start with the format, then choose the method
“Flame-free” describes how a fragrance is used. It does not mean that every oil or balm is compatible with every diffuser, safe for direct skin use or free from heat.
Oil and balm are different forms
Oil flows; balm is denser. Texture affects how a product is taken from its container and used, but does not by itself tell you its purity, ingredients or permitted use. Check the product information and label.
A small, close-up scent ritual
Where the label permits, begin with a small amount on a dedicated scent carrier. Keep the container clean and close it promptly. Try one fragrance at a time so it is easier to notice the scent.
Check the equipment, too
A reed diffuser, water-based ultrasonic diffuser and electric incense heater work differently. Only put a product into equipment when the product and equipment instructions both confirm compatibility. A flame-free heater may still become very hot.
Keep fragrance and care instructions together
Retain the original packaging and avoid transferring products into unlabelled containers. Do not ingest. Do not assume concentrated fragrance is ready to apply to skin, or add it to charcoal without explicit directions.
